Poet: Gelareh Pour, for Kian Pirfalak, inspired by Ferdowsi
Followed by poetry by Forough Farrokhzad
In the name of the God of Rainbows,
The merciful and compassionate god,
The God of water and the God of life,
The God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow,
The God of Pirouz, the soul-wrenching hope.
Where are you, the God of Rainbows?
The God of Kian’s saplings,
The God of toxic gases,
The God of women, wounded Iran,
Where are you, the God of Rainbows?
The sun lay lifeless, and tomorrow,
Within children's minds,
A lost, silent essence sorrowed.
They would ponder the enigma of this age-old word,
In their homework,
With a somber ink stain,
Visualizing the image, blurred.

Transcendant ..
